It is good to be reminded that eating well and moving are critical to both short and long term health. As soon as we let ourselves slip back into our old, unhealthy habits, we lose sight of the bigger picture which is how what we are doing now affects our health in the long run. I know that staying on the clean eating band wagon has been hard for many people, but our goal needs to be making it a part of our lifestyle forever, not just during 30 day challenges.
I know for myself, eating unclean is not an option. I spent too many years of my life, inflamed, battling with allergies and asthma that I am scared to death to go back to that place. I was always tired and cranky and actually sought help from a neurologist because I thought I had narcolepsy!!! Times have changed. I have said before and will say it again, I feel more alive now than I ever have. Don't put off the feeling of being truly alive. There is nothing better. If my health hadn't been in check before my mom had her massive stroke, the stress of the situation would be taking me under right now! You will have times when you don't eat well, but pick yourself back up and get right back on the clean eating band wagon.
There are so many pieces to the health puzzle, nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep, micronutrients, etc. It is not easy, but we need to encourage each other to fight the good fight.
"He who has health, has hope. And he who has hope, has everything."
Here are two articles that will hopefully motivate you to keep moving and eat to live! I encourage you to take the time to read both!
|Paul, Kylie, and I. One of my favorite inflammation pictures. I ate plenty of whole grains, wheat bread, bagels, and cheese for all of us.|
|Paul, Kylie, Will, and I enjoying our vacation with friends this past summer. I am not going back to the first picture.|
